How it works: we plan the build with you, install and tune it on our dyno, and you leave with the dyno sheet.

You want more power, and you want it right now, not after a turbo spools up. Maybe you drive a truck that tows, a muscle car that should feel meaner, or a daily driver that feels flat at 4,700 feet. A supercharger fixes that.

Turbo Lab does supercharger installation in Orem the whole way through: plan, install, tune, and prove it on our AWD Dynojet.

When you need supercharger installation

A supercharger is an air pump turned by a belt from the engine. It packs more air into the engine, so the engine can burn more fuel and make more power. Because the engine spins it directly, the power is there the moment you press the gas. There's no wait for boost.

Orem sits at about 4,700 feet, where an engine without boost makes about 14% less power than at sea level. A supercharger wins much of that back. It fits best if:

  • You drive a truck or SUV and want more pull for towing
  • You have a muscle car or V8 and want instant power
  • You want smooth power that feels like a bigger engine
  • There's a proven kit made for your car

Our supercharger installation process

We start with a baseline pull on the dyno, so you know what the car makes today. Then we help you pick a kit.

More air needs more fuel, so the injectors or fuel pump may need an upgrade. Superchargers make heat, so an intercooler and good cooling matter. A manual car may need a stronger clutch, and many builds need colder spark plugs. We price all of it up front.

After the install, we custom tune the car on our AWD Dynojet. We tune for 91 octane, since that's the top grade at most Utah stations, and we watch air-fuel and knock on every pull.

There are three main types of superchargers:

  • Roots: the classic blower on top of the engine. It moves a lot of air at low RPM, so it hits hard right away.
  • Twin-screw: two twisting rotors squeeze the air. It makes strong power low in the rev range.
  • Centrifugal: it looks like a turbo but is spun by a belt. Power builds as the engine revs, so it feels smooth.

Supercharger installation cost in Orem

The price depends on the car, the kit, and what else has to change. A kit made for your car costs less to install than one that needs custom parts. Fuel, clutch, and cooling upgrades add to the cost, and so does the tune. You get a written, itemized quote first, and no work starts until you say yes.

Installed and tuned in one building

We install and tune in one building. Every supercharged car gets a custom tune on our AWD Dynojet, not a guess, and you see the before and after numbers. We've been building boosted cars on Center Street since 1999. Compare it with turbo kit installation, or book dyno tuning for a car that already has one.

Supercharger installation questions

Supercharger or turbo?

A supercharger gives instant power and smooth response. A turbo usually makes more peak power for the money and wins back more of the power lost to altitude.

Will a supercharger hurt my engine?

A kit that's set up and tuned right runs inside safe limits. Trouble comes from too much boost, bad fuel, or a weak part. We check the engine first and set the boost to match it.

Will a supercharger pass emissions in Utah County?

Some kits carry a CARB Executive Order number, which shows they meet emissions rules. Ask us about your car before you buy a kit.

How long does a supercharger install take?

It depends on the kit and the car. A kit made for your car goes faster than one that needs custom parts. We give you a time with your written quote.

Can you install a kit I already bought?

Yes. We quote the install before we start, and we tune the car on our dyno. Our warranty doesn't cover work done with parts you supply, so we check the kit before we start.

Want instant power?

Call and tell us what you drive and how you use it. We'll tell you what a supercharger takes on your car, and what it costs, before you buy a part.
